Captains Daniel & Nivia Paredes:

Daniel Paredes and his wife, Nivia, are ordained Pastors and Ministers with the rank of Captains to serve anywhere under the Orders and Regulations of The Salvation Army, a nonprofit organization which main mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. They were commissioned as Corps Officers to serve in East Chicago and Whiting in June 2007 where they are serving currently.

Daniel was born from Gonzalo (84) and Aura Margarita (79) still living in Maracaibo, Venezuela. They have eight children, Daniel is the third older.

As volunteers in many positions into The Salvation Army and their home church, they learned to build the body of Jesus Christ, the Church, following their parent’s steps and obeying God’s call.

Before dedicate his life totally to the Lord, Daniel took a long journey of 28 years in Accounting, Administration and Auditing, earning a degree and high education achievements. During this time, his bigger client was el Aeropuerto Internacional de la Chinita de Maracaibo. His last professional experience was holding the Business Manager and Accountant position of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago, Illinois, from 1999 to 2004.

Captains Daniel and Nivia celebrated their 32 anniversary in November 27, 2015. They have three children; Daniel Gustavo (27) married with Kathryn, and a new baby boy Caspian, just 2 months old on July 7, 2015. Daniel & Kate expended the summer of 2014 in Kenya, Nairobi, where Kate was doing her internship for her degree; Nivia Patricia (20) who is sophomore at IVY Tech Community College ate Terra Haut, Indiana, where she is pursuing Human Services; and, David (14) who will be a sophomore this next year. David is member of the BSA, troop 561.

All in the family love music and plays one, two or four instruments.

Daniel & Nivia are committed to serve the Lord until He takes them to Glory!
