Summer Camp 2014
The Salvation Army of McHenry County’s provided an opportunity for children to attend summer day camp at the Crystal Lake Corps Community Center. The program ran for 6 weeks as a continuation of our SAL afterschool program and was open to all McHenry County Children.
Components of the Summer Day Camp Program included: Bible study, Educational and recreational field trips, swimming, skating, fishing, movies and more. Children enrolled in the summer program participated in recreational games and activities at the Community Center as well as arts and crafts. One week of vacation Bible School was included in the summer camp program.
The primary focus at the SAL is to provide children with access to recreational, educational and spiritual programs that encourage their creativity and connection to the community. The Center puts families at ease by providing a safe environment after-school for their children and by offering mentoring services that help to build character. Other services provided include arts and crafts and homework help, as well as summer day camps which give at-risk children outdoor and field trip experiences.
