“Stuff the BUS” – A Success!

The Salvation Army of McHenry County held several school supply drives to help send local children back to class with everything they need. In total, more than $2,200 and 8,500 items were collected.

For the third year, The Gary Lang Annual Classic Car Show on July 20 benefited the back-to-school effort. In addition to the proceeds from the admission fees, attendees were encouraged to bring supplies to but in the drop boxes. Fox 103.9 FM provided the entertainment for the day.

On July 27, the Crystal Lake Walmart hosted a “Stuff the Bus” event. STAR105.5 FM broadcast live from the event and encouraged the community to shop and donate supplies to children in need. Chicagoland’s largest steel pan drum organization – Potts & Pans – performed throughout the day. Families visited the McHenry County Health Department and Get Covered Illinois booths to learn about family health care and health insurance. Kiddie Academy of Crystal Lake provided the official race car for photo opportunities.
