Homeless Outreach

The Salvation Army is a leader in services to Chicago’s homeless population. The Harbor Light Center serves as the base of operations for our outreach ministry – Mobile Feeding and Mobile Outreach.

Mobile Feeding

Every night The Salvation Army’s Mobile Feeding Unit makes 24 stops throughout Chicago to provide a hot meal for men, women and families who find themselves spending their nights sleeping on the streets. We serve more than 800 meals each day – nearly a quarter of a million meals in a year. But those we reach get more than a hearty bowl of soup, bread, beverage and snack; they make a friend. They haven’t been forgotten; they are cared about and loved.
