WHAT WE DO
The Salvation Army Freedom Center houses four major Salvation Army programs – the Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program (Harbor Light Center), the Community Corrections Program (Pathway Forward), and a Corps Community Center (Harbor Light Corps Community Center). It also serves as the base of operations for the Mobile Feeding and Outreach Program.

Early Childhood Development
Programs include Head Start, Family Outreach Initiative: Home-Based Head Start, Full and Half-Day Child Care and Chicago Family Management Program for low income pregnant women.

NICOR “Sharing” is a program designed to assist low-income families who have difficulty in meeting home heating needs, specifically NICOR residential heating customers. It is funded through the generous donations of NICOR customers and employees. It is available to customers one time each calendar year.
Open to all who seek spiritual renewal and strength.

The Salvation Army Harbor Light Center, is one of the larger and most respected substance abuse recovery programs in the United States. It provides comprehensive, specialized services to persons seeking to overcome the disease of alcohol and substance abuse. We’re very proud to host this services at our facilities here.
Provides hot meals and case management, mental health and substance abuse services to men and women living on the street.
Salvation Army—founded partnership to combat sex trafficking of children through education and intervention.
Provides direct outreach and referrals to victims of sex trafficking.
