80 Years 80 Stories

In 1936, The Salvation Army established a new branch in the Metropolitan Division to address the needs of families in the Chicago area. Family & Community Services was born to meet the clinical and professional needs of those on the margins. Much has changed since Family & Community Services was first created, but our commitment to healthy relationships, empowering individuals and families, and meeting people where they are has not. As we approach our 80th year, we want to tell the stories that have made us who we are and that have shaped the work we have done and continue to do each and every day.
