Youth Programs

One of our main focus is on children’s programs and providing a safe and healthy place to come and hang out. we offer many opportunities from Music Classes to after school programs, to teen bible studies and leadership training. We live by the saying “It takes a village to raise a child” And we do this by networking with Parents, teachers, and schools, in order to not just say but show the kids that we do care for them and wish the world for these children.

Summer Camp- Kids always love visiting Wonderland Camp, Salvation Army’s outdoor camp. They have a ton of fun there rock climbing, doing archery and everyone’s favorite Swimming at the pool. the staff is lovely and grounds are beautiful, which helps give kids peace in order to unwind from daily city life.

After school Program- We take school very serious but also realize that after a long day at school the very last thing kids want to do is more learning. We combat this by introducing fun ways of learning by making up games with spelling words or races with math homework. We make believe that we are president making important speeches when we are reading and archaeologists when we study history. We like to encourage creativity and imagination in all aspects. Cost: $10 When: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 4:00-6:00

Music- Music can make even the wildest child settle down and playing music themselves not only calms them but gives them a sense of pride. Which is why we offer so many different classes.  In 2013 we are very proud to say that the Children won many different competitions. In March 2013 our Singing Company won a competition and were able to travel to St. Louis, MO to sing in a mass choir with our Children around the Midwest. Over the summer, three of our children won awards at music camp, an annual summer camp that gives the students intensive week long training in all things music and we recieved a shiny new Cornet for the corps with the highest grade point average.  Monday we have Beginner Music, Beginner Band, And Intermediate band from 6:00-7:15 and then we all get together for singing Company and Devotions 7:20-8:00. These are all free classes. We also have Guitar classes on Tuesday from 7:00-8:00 pm. You must bring your own Guitar. Piano classes are on Wednesday from 4:30-6:30. Both Guitar and piano cost $10 a week.
