Crisis Response Teams
The CISM Crisis Response and Emergency Social Services Teams were developed to support chaplain services and social service processing during a disaster event. Training is provided to volunteers at no cost.
CISM CRISIS RESPONSE TEAM
Developed as part of an agreement with Interfaith Chapels of Chicago Airports. Team members support airport chaplaincy services in the event of a crisis at Midway or O’Hare airport. CISM training and airport clearance procedures are required.
EMERGENCY SOCIAL SERVICES TEAM
Provides social service processing support in the event that a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) is established after a disaster. Those with social work backgrounds may be particularly interested, but anyone is able to participate. A one day Disaster Social Services course and ability to deploy to a disaster scene is required.
The Salvation Army in Elk Grove Village offers training at no cost to you. Training offered includes ICISF (Internatonal Critical Incident Stress Foundation) courses that prepare our volunteers to meet Emotional/Spiritual Care needs of those we serve.
