Luis and Raisi Zambrano came to know Christ at a young age, when believers talked person to person about Jesus Christ. In her second year at the university, Raisi decided to devote a semester to the Lord to preach the gospel in another city. During this time she met Luis, who was co-founder of the Student and Professional Crusade for Christ in Venezuela. They are married now and have three children: Raisi Zorel, Raisi Zairel and Luís Eduardo Jr.
Having moved to the United States they were surprised to learn that The Salvation Army was not only a social service organization, but also a venue for the Faith. They began to attend and love the ministry that took care of the soul and body. After praying and talking with officers of the Corps, they felt God was leading them to a full-time ministry with The Salvation Army.
Luís and Raisi bring a richness of education and ministerial experience that will no doubt impact significantly the work of The Salvation Army in the Chicago Lawn community. In 1994, Luis graduated from Northern Baptist Seminary with a Master of Divinity. They are serving as officers in the Lawn Corps, of the Metropolitan Division. Both yearn for others to learn about Christ through their testimony.
“We have found the perfect way to serve the Lord because we can talk to people about the love of God and at the same time we can show them God’s love in a practical way!”
